Saudade

A solo exhibition of new work by Camila Franco Ribeiro Gomide. The exhibition draws on the Portuguese concept of saudade—a feeling of longing, affection, and incompleteness—to explore themes of migration, identity, and cultural memory. Through intimate photographs of herself, family members, and close friends, Gomide examines the emotional complexities of belonging and displacement. Living between the United States and Brasil, she reflects on the personal and linguistic losses that accompany immigration, while honoring the emotional landscapes that persist across borders. Rooted in both personal narrative and broader questions of assimilation, saudade captures a profound negotiation of selfhood, language, and home.
