Breathing Surfaces

April 10 - May 29, 2025

Thiang Uk’s paintings pulsate with texture, movement, and an intuitive engagement with the natural world. Deeply influenced by ancestral beliefs, Uk embraces animism—the idea that natural objects possess their own life and spirit—eschewing a human-centric perspective in favor of a dynamic, independent world.

In this exhibition, Uk pushes their practice further by experimenting with framing techniques creating transitional spaces that challenge perception. These disruptions echo the fluid boundaries between seen and unseen, presence and absence, form and formlessness. By layering sensation with philosophy, Uk invites viewers into a realm where nature is not merely depicted but honored as a living, breathing force.
